Girona

Yes this is the Pont de les peixateries velles or, in English The Bridge of the Old Fish Market, located in Girona. Its iron structure resembles that of the Eiffel Tower, probably because it was designed by the same guy—the one and only Gustave Eiffel.

To capture this photo I used the “fisherman” technique (as described by the great photographer Joan Guerrero in a conference). The alternative being the “hunter” technique.

The “fisherman” technique, obviously, consists in identifying a well-composed spot that seems to be missing something and patiently waiting for that something to appear. It’s just a matter of time until the destiny places that something at the right place in the frame. Most of the time I get tired and give up, because Eternity always wins. But this time I won.

I only had to wait around 40 minutes before a girl decided to turn her head to look at the Onyar River as she crossed the bridge.
