The ‘tortell’ is a traditional cake from Catalan and Occitan cuisine in the shape of a ring or circle, made from brioche dough, puff pastry, or another type of dough, and filled with various ingredients such as marzipan, cream, custard, jam, angel hair, etc. It can be topped with candied fruit or pine nuts, as well as powdered sugar.
